I Saw A Bird Today by Paul

I saw a bird today
It was so cute
It has feathers that
Captivated my eyes
Mixture of red, yellow and green
I thought it was lost
and finding its way to
return to its paradise

It chirped like it was
looking for someone
that can understand,
Can fly it back to its home
or with it, will continue
exploring the new land

It was like the bird that
I saw when I was out
the day
I felt uncomfortable
and went to comfort myself
outside, looking at the sky
the trees that sway
the flock of seagulls that fly

One thing struck me is that
Of all the birds that i saw
this bird didn't fly away
when our eyes met.
Maybe it didn't see someone
like me before
or maybe the bird wasn't
afraid of anything
or maybe it was taught to
be not afraid.

I wasn't feeling famished
that day.

I stared at the bird and
noticed something in her eyes
I saw my face in there
while they never failed to
tantalize
I don't know what I felt
But it was a feeling
that I only felt for the first
time
Hey, it was the only bird
that attempted to come closer
So after a while, I stopped wondering.

She sang to me the beautiful
melodies that I've never heard
before
It was so alien yet so universal
I started to tap my feet to
follow the rhythm of her chirps.
A burst of happiness that is so
overwhelming suddenly engulfed me
This was the best day ever.

And I looked back.

There was an open door
The door wherein I come out
Whenever I feel uncomfortable
And I try to ease the pain.
Now the pain is gone
Thanks to the bird
which sang me the most beautiful
songs that can make anyone
Free of lonesome and troubles.
I feel fine. Do I want to feel finer?

I don't know. But I am a cat
A black house cat which only
Relies on catfood that my master
gives me.
A lazy cat by the way. I don't even
dare to catch mouses. All I do
is purr all day and grab my master's attention
And I have this bird on my paw
Singing to me the most beautiful songs
My instincts tell me to eat it but I closed my
eyes and listened to her songs instead.

"I don't have wings to fly her where ever she wants,
I don't even eat seeds and worm.
But I want to hear her songs forever
Because these are the greatest sounds that
anything that has ever made."

The bird suddenly saw someone of its kind,
and then it flew away.

I was left alone
now famished.
Her songs made me forgot of my hunger.
I just looked above and asked the Lord,
"Give me a sign. If she comes back an hour after I dine,
I'll be here outside forever and just listen to her sing
up to 9."
